About the Extension

Shop.app Receipt PDF is a free Chrome extension that adds a "PDF Receipt" button to your Shop.app order pages. With one click, it generates a clean, printable receipt you can save as a PDF. The extension runs entirely in your browser — no data is ever sent to any server.

Getting Started

  1. Install Shop.app Receipt PDF from the Chrome Web Store
  2. Navigate to any order page on shop.app
  3. Look for the "PDF Receipt" button on the order page
  4. Click the button — a new tab opens with your formatted receipt
  5. Use your browser's print dialog (Ctrl+P / Cmd+P) to save as PDF

Q: What permissions does the extension need?

A: The extension requires host permission for shop.app (to read order data and inject the button), activeTab, scripting, and storage (for passing data between tabs via ephemeral session storage).

Q: Does it work in other browsers?

A: The extension is built for Google Chrome. It may also work in Chromium-based browsers like Edge, Brave, and Arc, but Chrome is the only officially supported browser.

Q: Is it free?

A: Yes. Shop.app Receipt PDF is completely free. No account, no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Q: Does it work with all Shop.app orders?

A: The extension works with standard Shop.app order pages that include a receipt modal. If an order page has an unusual format, the button may not appear.

Q: Can I customise the receipt layout?

A: The receipt uses a fixed clean layout designed for professional use. Customisation options are not currently available, but we may add them in future updates.

Troubleshooting

The "PDF Receipt" button doesn't appear

Make sure you're on a shop.app order page (the URL should contain shop.app). Try refreshing the page. If the extension was just installed, it may need a page reload to inject the button.

The receipt page is blank

This can happen if session storage was cleared before the receipt page loaded. Try clicking the "PDF Receipt" button again on the order page.

Print dialog doesn't show "Save as PDF"

The "Save as PDF" option is part of your browser's built-in print dialog. In Chrome, select "Save as PDF" as the destination in the print dialog. On some systems, you may need to click "See more" to find this option.
