Local Communication

The App only communicates with:

• Local OpenClaw Gateway: Connects to the OpenClaw gateway running on your local machine (127.0.0.1:18789)
• App Settings: Stores user preferences (window position, keyboard shortcut) locally on your device

No Data Collection

We do NOT collect:

• Personal information or identifiers
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Chat messages or conversation history
• App usage patterns
• Crash reports or diagnostics

Chat Messages

All chat messages are sent to and received from your local OpenClaw gateway. The App acts as a user interface for the gateway and does not store or process messages independently. How your messages are handled depends on your OpenClaw gateway configuration.

Data Storage and Security

All data processed by Floating OpenClaw Chat remains on your local device:

• Local Processing: All communication happens over localhost
• No Cloud Storage: We do not store your messages or any data in the cloud
• Sandbox Security: The App runs in a macOS sandbox for enhanced security
• Network Access: Only accesses local network (127.0.0.1)

Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

• Network Client: To connect to your local OpenClaw gateway via WebSocket

Third-Party Services

Floating OpenClaw Chat does not integrate with any third-party services that collect or process your data. The App only communicates with your locally running OpenClaw gateway.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device or managed by your OpenClaw gateway, data retention is entirely under your control. The App does not retain any chat data beyond the current session.

Your Rights

Because the App operates entirely locally and does not collect personal data:

• You have complete control over your data
• You can configure your OpenClaw gateway's data handling independently
• You can delete the App and all its preferences by removing it from your Applications folder

Children's Privacy

Floating OpenClaw Chat does not collect any personal information, making it compliant with children's privacy protection regulations by design.
