Terms of Use — Tasks for Obsidian

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and lost end found Ltd ("lost end found", "we", "us") and govern your use of Tasks for Obsidian (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, lost end found grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store Terms of Service. The App is licensed, not sold, to you.

2. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, except as permitted by applicable law;
  • rent, lease, sublicense, sell, or otherwise transfer the App or any rights to it;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notices on the App, or use the App to violate any law or the rights of others;
  • circumvent any in-app purchase or entitlement system.

3. In-App Purchases & Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

The App is free to download and offers an optional Pro upgrade. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

The Pro upgrade is offered in three forms:

  • Pro Monthly Subscription — auto-renewing subscription billed every 1 month.
  • Pro Yearly Subscription — auto-renewing subscription billed every 1 year.
  • Pro Forever — one-time, non-consumable purchase.

Prices are displayed in the App and on the App Store at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. For auto-renewing subscriptions, your subscription automatically renews at the same price for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your Mac, or in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS. No refunds will be provided for the unused portion of the term once the renewal has been charged, except where required by applicable law.

Pro features remain active for the duration of your subscription or for the lifetime of the device's Apple ID for the one-time "Pro Forever" purchase, subject to Apple's family sharing and account-level rules.

4. Your Data & Vault Files

The App reads and writes Markdown (.md) files in the Obsidian vaults you explicitly authorize. You retain all rights to your vault content. lost end found does not receive a copy of your tasks or vault files. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-handling statement.

5. Updates

lost end found may make updates available through the App Store. Updates may add, change, or remove features. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated App.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. lost end found does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You are solely responsible for backing up your Obsidian vaults.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will lost end found be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or vault content, arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. lost end found's total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid lost end found for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Your rights under these Terms terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any provision. Upon termination you must stop using the App and delete all copies. Sections 6, 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law.

10. Changes to These Terms

lost end found may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after the change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Summary

You get a personal license to use Tasks for Obsidian on your Apple devices. Subscriptions auto-renew via Apple until you cancel them in System Settings. Your vault stays yours; we don't see your tasks. We provide the App as-is and our liability is limited.
